“For me, ideal form finds itself within the hand-blended tones and hues which embrace my own ideas and my IMPRESSIONS OF COLOR.”

Many years ago, I had the amazing experience of rediscovering my family’s collection of cherished pictures and remarkable destinations. These pictures that had become so familiar to me as a young child, have revealed their power and beauty anew, especially when I sketch them on wood, paper, or canvas. I continue to find joy in imagining that simple moment in time.

My work is designed to uniquely stylize these images of everyday life which are meant to transcend cultural and ethnic barriers and capture small snapshots of life on canvas or paper.  By blending rich colors and hues of oil, graphite, watercolors, and acrylics, I attempt to celebrate life, honor beauty, inspire hope, and invoke emotion.  Whether it’s a portrait of a man and his horn, the embrace of man and his woman, or a child at play, I feel the emotional impact is more important than the strict understanding of the images form or development.  My style explores the relationship between basic images and fundamental expectations of life.  For me, ideal form finds itself within the hand-blended tones and hues which embrace my own ideas and my Impressions of Color.
